Next time I grow beans I am going to use the ‘wicking bed’ system which will allow the beans to get more water as it is difficult to grow a decent crop with our water restrictions. People here are having more luck with bush beans – I think because they shade the ground and reduce evaporation and the shade keeps the soil from getting too hot, as well.
