I fell in love with the water banana when I saw a couple of colonies of this plant being planted in the ponds in Singapore Botanic Gardens. Botanically, it is known as Typhonodorum lindleyanum. It is a member of the aroid family where yams are its cousins.
Here’s a picture taken some time back when I visited the Gardens.

I got one myself recently and planted it in my ginger garden. It flowered flowered a month back and I decided to put up a pic of it here. It resembled a typical aroid flower.
